COFFEE
BE MY FRIEND
During JLfest, we have 2 monthly events in bringing people from around the world to interact in Japanese, learn from each other and build friendship.
Malaysia-Japan-Philippines Online Cafe
The Online Café is a fun and engaging three-country initiative that brings together Japanese language speakers (Nihongo-jin) to explore the cultures of Japan, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Held online on the first Sunday of each month during JLfest, each session features a unique theme. Participants will discover cultural similarities and differences, collaborate on interactive tasks, and make new friends — all while communicating in Japanese. This public event is open to both registered and non-registered JLfest 2026 participants.
JLfest Reading Club
The club promotes active reading among Japanese language learners by encouraging them to engage with their own experiences, emotions, and thoughts while reading stories and interacting with others across cultures. Sessions are held online on the 4th Sunday of each month during JLfest. This is a collaboration among three sensei from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand, giving each session a distinct Asian flavour. This event is open to registered JLfest 2026 participants only. If you are not yet registered, please register here before signing up for this event.
