Workshop Description

KAMISHIBAI Magic 1: “Draw a Tale” Workshop

In this session, participants were given three characters—a duck, a fish, and a snail—and tasked with creating a short story through three original illustrations.

KAMISHIBAI Magic 2: “Weave a Tale” Workshop

In this follow-up session, participants will bring their illustrated stories to life. They will learn how to create a sense of movement and continuity between each illustration using various transition techniques—an essential skill in effective Kamishibai storytelling.

Working in small groups, participants will exchange ideas, explore different storytelling styles, and give each other constructive feedback. The workshop will conclude with a group reflection in the main room, where participants will share their insights and creative discoveries.

Pre-Task for New Participants

If you did not attend Workshop 1, please prepare a short story featuring a duck, a fish, and a snail. Then, create three simple illustrations—either on paper or using digital tools—to bring your story to life. Be sure to bring these to the workshop.
