New or old—which kanji speaks to you?

「新」and「古」are two of the most commonly used kanji in everyday life. Now it’s your turn to explore them in a fun and creative way! Team up with a partner and take on the challenge of designing a Kanji Map Poster based on either 「新」 (new) or 「古」 (old).

Your mission?

Create a poster that’s eye-catching, easy to understand, and memorable—showing how the kanji is written, how it’s used, and what it really means.

💡 How to get started:

✨ Do a bit of online research

✨ Use storytelling or mind-mapping ideas

✨ Be creative—make learning kanji fun and exciting!

🎤 Final Round Alert!

The top 12 posters will move on to a final presentation round, where each team will pitch their poster to the judges. Presentations can be in English, Japanese or a mix of Japanese and English.

Don’t worry—the presentation won’t be scored, but a great pitch could help your poster stand out!
