KAMISHIBAI Magic Workshop Series

Step into the enchanting world of Kamishibai! Discover how storytellers use sequential picture cards to create movement, drama, and life in storytelling.

Workshop 1:

Visualize a story and turn it into a series of illustrated cards. Explore creative techniques and start your own Kamishibai tale.

Workshop 2:

Bring your cards to life by learning how to create smooth transitions and storytelling flow.

These workshops will be conducted in English and some simple Japanese.

Note:

During the workshops, participants will be given a simple short story to work on. The story will be provided in both Japanese and English a few days in advance to give participants an idea of what they will be working on.

Participants who do not attend Workshop 1 must prepare a set of 4–8 sequential illustrated cards in advance.
